AMY BOSK, LCSW-R

‬For nearly 10 years, I've been in private practice in the heart of Astoria, NY, the‬ neighborhood where I've lived for most of my adult life. I'm an LCSW-R with nearly 20‬ years of experience working in the field of mental health in New York City. I obtained my‬ BA in Psychology at Muhlenberg College and my Master's Degree in Social Work from‬ New York University. At NYU, I specialized in Evidence Based Practice in Mental Health,‬ learning cutting edge and proven interventions to help people suffering to heal and live‬ to their greatest potential.‬

After graduate school, I worked at the Center for Urban Community Services (CUCS) for 8‬ years, where I helped formerly homeless people overcome mental health struggles and‬ live housed in the community. I worked closely with both clients and as a staff‬ supervisor. The skills and experiences gained from this work enabled me to pursue my‬ dream of seeing people in my own practice.‬

My passion for education continues as I strive to learn the latest in my field and further‬ hone my skills. My training in Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and‬ Commitment Therapy (ACT), and Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT) provides a helpful‬ guide in treating anxiety, depression, and the long-lasting effects of trauma. Additionally,‬ I have been trained specifically in working with people experiencing perinatal mental‬ health issues including perinatal mood and anxiety disorders (PMADS) and am working‬ toward obtaining a Perinatal Mental Health Certification (PMH-C) through Postpartum‬ Support International.‬
